What’s In the Darkroom

It has been a long while since I posted and I have been house bound due to the Chinese Covid-19 so have not been out shooting or even experimenting much in the darkroom. I have not even had a chance to take out my new 5×12 camera due to weather and other priorities. We are living through a kitchen remodel too so my stuff is everywhere in the house.

On the Large Format Forums the other day someone asked “What’s in your darkroom” wanting to know what films, paper, and chemistry people in that community are using. So that requires doing some inventory and thought I might share.

Film 4×5: FP4+ (&5×12), Delta 100, Bergger 400, HP5
Paper: Ilford Classic MGFB and warmtone, Ilford ART, Bergger VC
Film developers: Pyrocat M (Cachetol+Metol) , Obsidian Aqua (Cachetol), Diafine, HC-110
Paper developer: Formulary version of Ansco 130, Ethol LPD
Stop: Kodak indicator stop
Fixer:TF5 for Film and Ilford rapid fix for paper

Plus chemicals to make bleaches, toners, wash aid, tray cleaners, etc.
Potassium Ferricyanide, Potassium Bromide, Potassium Dicromate, Copper Sulfate
Thiourea, Sodium Hydroxide, Selenium (KRST), Cachetol, Metol, Sodium Carbonate

I also just bought a multi reel tank that is 12″ tall for processing my 5×12 film. It will require some testing because I need 1800ml developer in the tank so will need to work out dilutions.
I am also searching for a new backpack for the 5×12 camera – something around 50-60L size with 7″+ depth. Shimoda, Fstop, and Mammut are what I have narrowed down to but still hunting.
