Delta 100 and Pyrocat M

I shot some 4×5 Delta 100 on a recent Sunday Morning Adventure with fellow NGLFP member Bryan Garris. We traveled North and West to Cherry Log, Georgia to Falls Branch Falls. There wasn’t much rain recently so the falls were a bit bare of water and the lighting was spotty through the trees. The hike was relatively easy but up hill to the falls for about 1/2 mile. I did find an interesting piece of wood that resembled a dragon (If you use your imagination). From there we travelled to the Swinging Bridge over the Taccoa river. The dirt road to the bridge is rough so need to take SUV or truck. Again the lighting was a bit too harsh but I fired off a few shots at each location. While we were shooting a little creek off of the main river, a little boy watching us unintentionally stirred up a nest of yellow jackets and got stung a couple of times. I lost my cable release and had my backup fail at the same time. It is never dull when seeking adventure.

I processed the Delta 100 in Pyrocat M but did so with 2 sheets in the tank instead of a single sheet as I usually do. I had the opportunity to do N and N- development due to the range of light at the two locations. I was pleasantly surprised by the Delta negatives in that they had a bit more midtone separation than FP4+ that I am used to. I will have to print them to be sure but the negatives look good and pass the initial IPhone scanner test. I’ll post more info regarding these negatives as time allows. Cooler weather will get me back in the darkroom for printing soon.
